Original context
- The note search box currently keeps the typed query with no visible one-click clear affordance.
- Reporter expected a simple clear option such as an “X” in the field.
- Current workaround is selecting all text manually and deleting it.
- Reported on Windows 11, Alpha 2026.5.13.6.
Why this belongs on Canny
This reads as a UX/product improvement rather than a broken shipped contract. The request is to add a more convenient way to clear note-search text, not to restore a previously documented behavior.

This has shipped. Note search now has a dedicated Clear search action/button, covered by the note-list search tests. Closing this request as complete.
