Table of Contents (TOC) and Wiki - feature for Note Editor
complete

The note editor needs a Table of Contents (TOC) feature that allows users to easily view and navigate between sections of the document. This is especially useful for long notes with multiple headings.
My suggestion is broad, and I'm available to contribute further to it.
I once created an extension for ChatGpt for personal use that included this feature. And it turned out very interesting.
In Tolaria, the project would use a right-hand sidebar (which is why I'm discussing in other requests the creation of a universal sidebar with tabs (AI Agent | Properties | TOC | etc. - all in tabs, which would prevent one from overlapping another).
A better space:
We could use the left side (where the file cards are displayed) to display the TOC/Wiki
Example:
Tab: Inbox/Files | TOC/Wiki
A Resource of TOC
In my idea, at the top of the TOC sidebar/tab we would have features such as:
- Word Counter - See the size of your document in words, characters, lines, or reading time
- Progress bar
- Search field with markers indicating the item's location and the number of expressions found
- Buttons for next and previous word
- Tree that can have a toggle to hide the underlying ones
- To top button
- Smooth effect for the content while searching up or down
And the Wiki?
If you notice, this is already enough to transform the project into a wiki with a single-page view (same .md file) - unless you plan on creating a Wiki with external sources in the future.
- Multiple markdown files (but Types already does this)
- Import other markdown files with a view into a single file
If Luca Rossi wishes, I can create a complete file (in HTML with CSS and JS) and send it to him for analysis and adaptation.
I'm just waiting for future updates to see where some buttons will be placed and what he wants to do with the sidebars, because depending on what he does, I'll bring several ideas to adapt without needing to change what he's already done; that is, there are buttons that can be inserted into already defined spaces for So, another button or menu, another great feature to be added.

I think the TOC is fine for now, I know the sidebar needs some work (will move AI agents out of that for sure), and not really sure what you mean with Wiki :)
Also noted the feedback on heading indicators, will think about it
Closing for now! :)

Luca Rossi Many thanks for TOC!
Feature Request: Heading Level Labels in Table of Contents
Could you please add an option to hide the heading level indicators (H1, H2, H3) in the Table of Contents? As it currently stands, these labels are visually distracting and make it harder to focus on the actual content of the headings. Having a toggle to show or hide them would be a great usability improvement.

TOC is great, please make this like in Obsidian plugins (floating toc / insta toc / etc) and to have chance to copy all TOC as text

Luca Rossi I don't know what your idea is regarding creating a Wiki resource in the future. I edited this request, which describes how we could leverage two resources into one. What do you think?
